On May 15, 2024, St. John the Apostle School honored tradition with its May Crowning ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in the church. Eighth graders dressed elegantly led the procession, followed by second graders, who wore the dresses and suits worn at their recent First Holy Communion.
The ceremony featured reflections on Mary's humility and grace. It emphasized her role as Mother of Christ and our guiding light. Eighth graders Gio German and Sydney Martins crowned Mary this year. The students sang "Bring Flowers of the Fairest," symbolizing Mary’s status as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Prayers and hymns united the congregation, invoking Mary's intercession for peace. The event concluded with blessings for grace, inspiration, and courage. The community sang "Hail Holy Queen," concluding the celebration with reverence and gratitude.
The May Crowning at St. John the Apostle School showcased its community's enduring devotion and faith, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary with solemnity and joy.
