In order to provide further security for all of our student, parents/guardians are no longer permitted to come upstairs without permission from the office.  If you feel your child's backpack or other item is too heavy for them to carry up to their classroom, please leave it in the office and the student will be permitted to come and take the contents in small, manageable amounts to their rooms.  If you are waiting for your child after school (with the exception of AfterCare), please wait for them in the parking lot, NOT in the school.

Thank you for your help in our efforts to provided a more secure school for all of the students.

According to the guidelines for the Archdiocese's program "Protecting God's Children":

"All volunteers who chaperone groups of minors on overnight  or day trips, regardless of the type of activity involved", will need a background check (National Criminal and Sexual Offender Search) and to attend a "Protecting God's Children" workshop.

If you wish to be considered as a chaperone for a class trip, please request the background check paperwork from the school office.  Please check the Archdiocese's web site for other local workshops.

Please have you child dressed in the proper school uniform.  The requirements are in the Parent Handbook that all families have received.  The handbook is also available online.  Earrings, nail polish, jewelry, shirts, shoes, socks, etc. are all detailed.

Please note:  the students may not wear jackets, fleece or sweat, during school in class.  They may wear only the uniform sweater.

St. John the Apostle School and Parish wish to publicly thank to Mr. Steve Thorpe and Mr. Fred Milek.  It is because of these two men that our entire parish community is both Internet and Intranet connected.  Beginning at the end of the 1998-1999 school year and all through that summer they worked endless hours of their own time so that we would be up and running for the opening of school.  Even now they continue to give to us.  Mr. Thorpe is constantly here checking and maintaining our system and Mr. Milek is just an e-mail away.

We would also like to publicly thank Mr. Dan Sheldon and Mr. Scott Kellish.  During the 2002 Thanksgiving break,  they ran cable in the computer lab enabling all 48 computers in the computer lab to be networked, Internet and Intranet connected!

Thank you!

We will be using an automated telephone system to notify you of school closings, delayed openings and other important messages VERY soon.  If you have moved or change your phone number or any other information that we need to keep our records up to date, PLEASE notify the school office.  We can only notify you if we have all the latest information.  Also PLEASE notify the rectory with this information.   We only maintain the school/student records.  The rectory maintains the parish information.
